Plans for the New Church Building
The state of Hi-Way Pentecostal Church’s Re-location to the New Property at Crown Hill:
Construction drawings are now complete and the necessary permit applications are ready to go to build the new church at Crown Hill. Preparations to build have progressed as far as they can pending a firm start date for construction. The target construction date is tentatively set for the spring of 2013, and is pending the firm completion of the sale of the existing facility on Anne Street.
The church board accepted a conditional offer to purchase the Anne Street facility back in 2010. Since then, the purchaser has been working diligently to remove three main conditions so the sale can close. At this time, there is one condition remaining, that being waiting on the City of Barrie council for their approval of the project that is slated for 50 Anne Street North.
This gives us the projected ‘shovel in the ground date’ as already mentioned. This also means that the board must now re-activate the many permits (MTO, MOE, Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority, Simcoe County and Springwater Township agreements, etc.) to be ready when the day arrives to start.
Did You Know?
Hi-Way Pentecostal Church was so named because it sat next to the new (back in the 50’s) Highway 400. The new location of Hi-Way Church will touch Highway 400, Highway 11, Highway 93 (Pentetanguishene Road) and one more very short unnamed county road between Highway 400 and Crown Hill. We will truly be the “Hi-Way Church”.
