Re-zoning has now been successfully completed. Many difficulties have been overcome. These difficulties resulted from the fact that the current property fringes on a soon to be widened Highway 400, and a soon to be widened Anne Street. In addition to this, the Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority is very interested in the welfare of the tiny creek that cuts across the back of 50 Anne Street.

City Council has now approved the re-zoning to C-4, General Commercial.

During the full year that it took to achieve the re-zoning, there has been a major downturn in the general economy along with a downturn in commercial development opportunities resulting in the withdrawal of the offer to purchase of 50 Anne Street. The purchaser is still very interested in the property, but is unable to move forward until there is a significantly improved financial climate.

The church board has decided to put the sale of 50 Anne Street "on hold" for the immediate future. This will be re-visited as conditions change.
Development of New Church Building and the Overall Site:
Construction drawings are now complete and the site plan application is in the hands of Springwater Township. We have in our hands the certificates of approval for both the Storm Water Management and the Septic Treatment; the fire fighting reservoir design is ready, and the entrance design to the property is finished.
Preparations to build have been completed as far as they can go pending a fixed start date. Of course the start date is dependent on the sale of 50 Anne St, so the project is also now "on hold".
