The Hi-Way To The Future INVESTMENT PLAN, which is a GIC (guaranteed investment certificate) type of investment certificate, got off to a good start in 2008. Hi-Way will continue to receive investments into this plan. These investments are applied to reducing the existing loan at the bank. Although interest rates are higher than those offered for GIC’s at the chartered banks, they are lower than the interest rates the church is paying at the bank. This makes it a win/win situation. Investors get a better rate and the church pays a lower rate than at the bank. Investments can be made in any denomination for terms of 1, 2, 5, or 10 years.
